Upcoming Trucking Events

Trucking events, trade shows, and expos are the largest gatherings in the trucking industry. From demonstrations of the latest equipment to information about upcoming trends and legislation, to fantastic entertainment, trucking events offer something for everyone. Fleet owners, thought leaders, drivers, mechanics, and even kids can find something to catch their interest, and the biggest shows are just on the horizon.

A Word About Upcoming Trucking Events

The big trucking events, such as the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) simply did not happen last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2021 saw a few smaller trade shows, but with the rise of the new Delta variant, all dates are still tentative, or they are placeholders for future announcements. For those making plans to attend trucking events between now and the end of 2021, be prepared for those dates to be moved to 2022, as the current health and safety outlook is uncertain for events that draw large crowds.

Great American Trucking Show (GATS)

Without a doubt, the Great American Trucking Show is the one event people in the trucking industry – as well as those adjacent to it – do not want to miss. GATS is usually a week-long convention spanning multiple stages, with seminars, presentations, competitions, awards ceremonies, cooking demonstrations and more. GATS 2021 was originally scheduled for the last full week of August, but health concerns pushed industry leaders to cancel the event. Hopefully, they will announce a new date for 2022.

Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS)

The Mid-America Trucking Show takes place at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY. The next show will be the big one, as MATS celebrates their 50th anniversary. MATS 50 boasts over 30 acres of free truck parking. The MATS expo will feature hands-on demonstrations, speakers, vendors, and a chance to sample one of Kentucky’s greatest exports, bourbon. Currently, MATS 50 is scheduled for March 24 – 26, 2022 so register early to guarantee your spot, or sign up as a speaker or vendor.

Texas Trucking Show

The Texas Trucking Show is an annual trade show where industry professionals can connect with vendors and suppliers. The Texas Trucking Show has demonstrations and representatives ranging from logistics to equipment, accessories, vehicle customization, financing, specialty trailers, and much more. Due to health concerns, the Texas Trucking Show has canceled all dates for 2021 and is instead scheduled for June of 2022.

Iowa 80 Walcott Truckers Jamboree

As almost everyone knows, Iowa 80’s claim to fame is that it is “The World’s Largest Truckstop.” Every year in July, Iowa 80 holds the Truckers Jamboree, with free parking and free admission. In July of 2022, the Iowa 80 Walcott Jamboree will feature over 175 exhibits, live music, fireworks, a pork chop cookout, contests, and more.
